November 2013

Saint John Waterfront Development receives the “Silver Award” from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in the category of General Purpose promotion for communities with populations of 25,000 – 200,000.  IEDC Chairman, Paul Krutko said, “The Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognizes Saint John Waterfront Development as being one of the leading organizations in the industry for innovation, creativity and successful strategies”.  The IEDC Awards recognizes the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban and rural communities.     


September 2006

Harbour Passage is awarded the Randy Dickinson Community Inclusion Award in recognition of furthering the inclusion of persons with disabilities within the area of recreation, sport and active living in New Brunswick.  The award was presented by Recreation New Brunswick during their 2006 Conference & Tradeshow.

March 2005

Harbour Passage is awarded a Regional Merit Award by the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects in the Design Category!  The CSLA Professional Awards Program is sponsored by the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects to recognize and encourage excellence in all aspects of the profession; and to promote a strong awareness of landscape architecture as a profession among related professions, potential clients, and the general public.

July 2004

The Saint John Waterfront Development's Inner Harbour Land Use Plan is awarded the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) Award of Excellence!  The Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) has existed since 1919 and is the national professional institute and certification body for some 6,300 professional planners across Canada.

Excellence in Heritage Preservation Citation:  The Saint John Waterfront Development Partnership is recognized for outstanding contribution to heritage preservation in the City of Saint John through understanding the role the rich resource of heritage buildings plays in the continued revitalization of Saint John and for the organization’s efforts in rehabilitation planning and encouraging construction of new buildings that are sensitive to the historic context of the City.
