Marina
Welcome to the Saint John Waterfront Development Small Craft Facility (Marina).
This Marina is for docking purposes only and designed to meet the needs of the sailing public. The Marina is located in Market Slip and is essentially a U-shaped facility with a capacity for single-docking for upwards of 6-8 vessels, depending on size, (ranging from 22ft to 38ft) and with double/triple docking capacity for 12-14 vessels.
Most sailing visitors to this Marina are waiting for tide changes (6-12 hours) to proceed up the St. John River; however, longer durations (more than 24 hrs.) are acceptable with permission from Saint John Waterfront Development. As well, it can be a safe haven during ill-weather and sailors are advised that some wave conditions may exist during a northeast wind.
Many sailing visitors will dock and proceed on land to enjoy an afternoon/evening/day of festivals, entertainment, restaurants and shopping; all sailors welcome.
The gangway is locked at 7pm daily and on weekends, unless sailing traffic dictates.
Sailing yachts should check low tide depths to ensure vessel clearance. Please use depth sounder during low-tide docking.
Canada Customs and Border Patrol Officers do make periodic visits and upon request can/will meet a vessel at designated dates/times.
