Development Opportunities
Waterfront Projects
Public projects on the waterfront are making a significant difference to the landscape of the Inner Harbour, the uptown and the attitudes of the people in Saint John. Creating world-class public spaces along Saint John's waterfront are a key component of the Waterfront Development Plan. Public projects such as those listed below spur new construction in the area which will, in turn, increase both the tax base and the population base.
The beautification and restoration of Saint John's historic waterfront is going a long way to create a fundamental change in Saint John's image. Current efforts are concentrated on the following waterfront projects:
- Tender: Smythe Street Curb/Sidewalk and Expansion Joint Rehabilitation
- Fundy Quay Project
- Reversing Rapids Master Plan
- Pugsley Park/Water Street Master Plan
- Harbour Passage
- Boardwalk refurbishment
- Small Craft Marine Facility
- Partridge Island
At times, these projects or segments of are managed by a volunteer Working Group formed by the Partnership and consisting of local citizens and stakeholders who are passionate about the rejuvenation and renewal of our city and our waterfront.
