Harbour Passage
Harbour Passage is a series of inter-connected waterfront parks, recreation spaces and heritage sites. The Passage currently extends from the Boardwalk downtown to a magnificent pavilion at the food of Bentley Street on Chesley Drive. A second section of the Passage veers off the main trail at Fort LaTour and leads to Hilyard Street near Fort Howe. The goal of the Partnership is to ultimately connect the trail to Falls View Park, Reversing Falls and to the west side of the city.
Harbour Passage has restored access to Saint John's historic waterfront providing magnificent views of the Harbour and Saint John's working port. Harbour Passage is accessible on a year-round basis. The trail has been very successful in encouraging a healthy and active community lifestyle for all age groups, including those requiring wheelchair accessibility. Walkers, runners, and cyclers are actively enjoying Harbour Passage with it's amazing views, wildlife and beautifully landscaped surrounding.
Length of Harbour Passage:
Harbour Passage now connects the north side of the city to the downtown with a safe walking, running and biking trail. Harbour Passage has been a Saint John success story with over 2,500 users a day!

Official Designation of Trans Canada Trail
May 27th, 2008 Harbour Passage was officially designated as part of the Trans Canada Trail. Honourable Stuart Jamieson, Minister of Tourism and Parks, Mayor Ivan Court, Valerie Pringle, Chair of the Trans Canada Trail and Bill MacMackin, President of Saint John Waterfront Development were on hand for the official designation. The event was a celebration of Saint John’s urban trail. Harbour Passage continues to be a symbol of our community’s progress, renewal and pride.
