The Small Craft Facility at Market Slip is located in the heart of Uptown Saint John. This facility provides 310 feet of docking space which can accommodate large sailboats, tour boats and other pleasure craft. Operating from mid May to mid October, the facility continues to be a major attraction for recreational boaters from all along the Eastern Seaboard of Canada and the United States.
The Small Craft Marine Facility is the only public facility in the harbour that provides a safe landing, while boaters are waiting to pass through the Reversing Falls into the St. John and Kennebecasis River systems. It serves as a valuable asset to the community throughout the tourist season.
Several commercial tour operators use Market Slip to load and unload cruise ship passengers and visitors. These tour operators offer jet boat rides, harbour tours, and a water-taxi service in the Inner Harbour and at the mouth of the St. John River.
